Lights of Spain 1880–1920 Goya Museum, Castres
At the Goya Museum: Spain Bathed in Light
This unprecedented exhibition sheds light on a little-known aspect of Spanish painting at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, as seen through the eyes of a generation of artists influenced by their stays in Paris and the Impressionist aesthetic. Bringing together some thirty paintings from major Spanish and European collections, the exhibition traces how these painters revitalized the depiction of the landscape and Spain’s regional identities. Spanning three galleries devoted successively to Catalonia and the Basque Country, Castile, and then Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, and Valencia, the exhibition reveals to the French public the richness and diversity of a Spain bathed in light.
This exhibition was an opportunity for Partner to build on its historical international relations with its Spanish partners and illustrates the trust placed in it by several major Iberian museums (the Museum of Fine Arts in Bilbao, the Reina Sofia and the Prado in Madrid, the Thyssen in Malaga and the MBA in Valencia).
Thanks to rigorous coordination at each stage of international transport, with the handling of numerous transporters, and up to the installation in the rooms of the Goya Museum, all the works were transported and installed safely by our on-site installers, demonstrating once again our agility in supporting medium-sized provincial museums in their beautiful projects.
